Old Indiana Barn Wood Reclaimed in New Trend
When it comes to old barns and wood, the people of Indiana are getting creative! From tables to accent walls, people are finding many new and interesting ways of using their old barn wood. If you are no longer utilizing the barn on your property, this may be a great idea, and way for you to update, or improve the look of your current living space.
Adam Dick, the owner of Hoosier Reclaimed Timber, took down his first barn about 8 years ago. The Bloomington-based Hoosier Reclaimed Timber, is taking advantage of this opportunity, they will painstakingly remove the wood piece by piece, in order to salvage as much wood as possible for reuse.
Dick, estimates that his company has now removed nearly 30 barns from Indiana, and Ohio over the last 8 years. With this growing trend Dick is now receiving more calls the he can get to, which is always a good sign for business!
“I used to seek them out, but now they come to me. To get the better ones, you still have to seek them out,” Dick said.
